Introduction
24 hours in one minute, is a collection of video shots from urban sites: Berlin, Linz, Johannesburg, Taipei, Cannes, Shanghai, Kaohsiung… The camera records every minute half a second by itselfand the footage is edited in one minute. Most of these cities are in process of an urban transformation, for example, Taipei 101, as a construction site, Shanghai in process of urban expansion, Johannesburg City after Apartheid, Berlin with some new architectural highlights. The work shows not only the change of a day within a minute, but surprising moments of urbanization, where temporal and spatial figurations are compressed and remapped.
